Computer Tune-up Test

If you answered yes to any of these questions, it may be time for your computer to get a tune-up. A computer tune-up is similar to getting your car tuned up. A professional examines all of the important parts and tests the critical systems.

Confidential Solutions offers two tune-up options, a basic tune-up that can be performed remotely and a complete tune up that includes cleaning and test all of the physical components of the computer.

A basic tune up includes,

1. Uninstalling unwanted or unnecessary software
2. Remove unwanted or unnecessary start up programs
3. Cleaning & compacting the computer registry
4. Deleting temporary files
5. Performing a basic test of your hard drive
6. Defragging your hard drive
7. Performing a basic test of your systems memory
8. Updating the operating systems and software
9. Updating the anti-virus and anti-spyware software
10. Performing a thorough anti-virus and anti-spyware scan using multiple scanning tools.
    

A complete tune up also includes,

• Physically inspecting all of the capacitors and moving parts inside the computer
• Extensive testing of all of the major components inside the computer including, the hard drive, CD / DVD drives, memory, etc.
• Physically cleaning the inside and outside of the computer.
  

An annual tune up will extend the life of your computer and help protect the data that is stored on it.
Tune ups reduce the chance of catastrophic failures.

A basic tune up takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, making the average tune up cost approximately $70.00.

A complete tune up can take 24 hours to complete, but only requires about 3 hours of labor, making the approximate cost $150. Complete tune ups must be done off-site in our facilities.

Please note:
Customers should be regularly backing up important data such as photos, music, documents, tax records, etc. Occasionally hardware will fail during the tune up. Unfortunately that means that data is sometimes lost.

Before Confidential Solutions begins the either the basic or complete tune up, customers must acknowledge the risks. Confidential Solutions cannot be held responsible for hardware failures due to age or neglect.

For an additional fee, Confidential Solutions will backup the computer or specific data as directed by the customer. We can sell you an external hard drive and provide you with the software necessary to make the initial backup and then setup regular backups for your computer. This process can take an additional 1 to 2 hours at our standard $50.00 per hour rate.
